The Village Arts and Education Foundation
The Village Arts and Education Foundation is a nonprofit public benefit corporation formed on April 15, 2013 to develop artists and supporters of the visual arts through demonstration, education, and outreach with innovative programs and partnerships reaching out to schools, business, government, and our global community.
Our goals are to become the primary resource for art education in the community and to develop artists and supporters of the visual arts. To achieve these goals, we will provide the community with outreach programs including art camps, educational classes, and art exhibitions at Spanish Village Art Center and throughout the greater San Diego community.
Art camp program
This educational program consists of 15 hours of art education in various media spread over a five-day period. Camps for children are held at Spanish Village Art Center from July 1 through August 30, Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. till 12 p.m. and from 1 p.m. till 4 p.m. Children in grades 1 through 8 may participate in the art camp program.
We also have Adult Art Camps – please check our website for more information.
To offer new opportunities for young artists, we will arrange exhibits where original art of all media types and sizes may be exhibited in various ways both in Gallery 21 in Spanish Village and around the county. As VAEF secures funds, we will be looking at schools and after-school programs that need assistance in art education, as well as other child organizations, including the Girl and Boy Scouts and the YMCA summer programs and will assist needy students that wish to attend art programs.
